But no matter how much you’ve grown in twenty-four years, or how many transformations that you have done; you are still as bright as you were from the start. You’ve continuously wowed us with your talents and your versatility, and as if there is nothing else that could surprise us, you somehow manage to anyway. Bright as the sun with a heart as big. Sunny, you are the one of a few people I know who wears their heart on their sleeves. You care about your 9 Soshi sisters so much so that you would even sacrifice your life for them. And although you’re rarely vocal about your love to your fellow Sunshiners and SONES, we at least know you’re showing it through your undeniable fanservice and kindness, and we’re all truly gratified. 

I’ve only known you for six months, and I’m probably years behind true Sunshiners, but I think I might truly love you (probably just as much as Chris Evans :>). Sunny, You’ve truly changed my life for the better. I have never met you, but yet like the Sun you are, you somehow pulled me out of a very dark place in my life and I am forever indebted to you for that.

So thank you Sunny. May this year bring you even more than the last~

To Lee Sunkyu, Sunny, isn’t merely a name for her. It became her character. Her foundation. Her name brings warmth and that warmth brings joy to the people around her.

Lee Sunkyu, small but strong as a mountain;
She once confessed of having so many handicaps that potentially could overwhelm her. Instead of dwelling in these discouragements, she persevered and conquered her insecurities. She’s a walking inspiration; proving that it’s only human nature to feel pressure, as at the same time, pressure is what makes diamonds.

In Choi Sooyoung’s words, “Sunny is a pile of luck. She completes us. Girls’ Generation without Sunny is like a donut without the hole”. Being the last member to join, she’s indeed the one who completes the group. Think about it. Her inclusion brings completeness; closure to the definition; and unity to Girls’ Generation.
